Başkan Joe Biden, ulusal güvenliğe yönelik bir tehdit olarak nitelendirdi Wyoming‘deki Warren Hava Kuvvetleri Üssü yakınındaki bir kripto para madencilik tesisine yönelik operasyonları durdurma emri verdi.

Beyaz Saray‘ın emrine göre, Çin vatandaşlarının çoğunluk hissesine sahip olduğu ve MineOne‘un arkasındaki Britanya Virjin Adaları şirketinin, Cheyenne‘deki Minuteman III nükleer füzelerini barındıran askeri tesisin yakınındaki mülk üzerindeki tüm madencilik ve özel ekipmanlarını kaldırması gerekiyor.

Şirket, 2022’de mülkü satın almak ve orada çalışmaya başlamak için Amerika Birleşik Devletleri Yabancı Yatırım Komitesi‘ne (CFIUS) başvurmadan arazi edindiği iddiasıyla suçlandı ve Beyaz Saray‘a göre, bu satın alma işlemiyle ilgili bir ihbar bu soruşturmanın başlamasına yol açtı.

Hazine Bakanlığı‘ndan konu ile ilgili yapılan bir açıklamaya göre, emir, aynı zamanda Amerika Birleşik Devletleri Başsavcısı‘nın bunu uygulamak için “gereken her türlü adımı atma” yetkisini de verdiğini ve “kripto para madenciliği operasyonları gerçekleştirmek için kullanılan özel ekipmanın mülk üzerinde bulunması, bunlardan bazılarının yabancı kaynaklı olması ve önemli ulusal güvenlik endişeleri oluşturması” nedeniyle yapıldığı ifade edildi.

Hazine Sekreteri Janet Yellen, bir açıklamada, “CFIUS’un hassas ABD askeri tesislerine risk oluşturan işlemler ve özel ekipman ve teknolojilerle ilgili işlemler gibi özellikle ulusal güvenliğimize zarar vermemesi için yabancı yatırımı denetleme konusunda kritik bir bekçi rolüne sahip olduğunu vurgulamaktadır” dedi.

MineOne şirketi konu ile ilgili henüz resmi bir açıklama yapmadı.
