1970’lerde Betamax ve Walkman ile tanınan Japon teknoloji devi Sony, şimdi kendi blockchain projesini başlatıyor. Sony Block Solutions Labs ve Singapur merkezli Startale Labs‘in ortak çalışması olan bu proje, Ethereum blockchain‘i üzerinde çalışan yeni bir layer-2 ağı olan Soneium‘i duyurdu.

Bu gelişme, ana akım şirketlerin blockchain teknolojisi kullanarak tüketiciler için ürünler geliştirme konusunda yeniden ilgi gösterebileceğini işaret ediyor. İlk yıl, Web3 topluluğunu hedeflemeye yönelik olacak, ardından Sony ürünleri (Sony Bank, Sony Music, Sony Pictures vb.) ve genel dApp‘lerle entegrasyon sağlanacak. Üç yıl içinde ise sadece Sony değil, tüm girişimlerin ve genel dApp‘lerin de Soneium üzerine entegre edilmesi planlanıyor. Watanabe, girişimcilere mümkün olduğunca erken erişim sağlamayı hedeflediklerini belirtti.
