Donald Trump, ailesinin önderliğinde geliştirilen kripto projesi World Liberty Financial‘ın 16 Eylül’de piyasaya sürüleceğini duyurdu. Trump’ın oğulları Eric ve Donald Trump Jr., projenin başında bulunurken, 18 yaşındaki Barron Trump, projenin “DeFi vizyoneri” olarak tanımlanıyor. World Liberty Financial, geleneksel bankacılık sisteminden uzaklaşarak kripto para birimlerini benimsemeyi hedefliyor.

Trump, 12 Eylül’de X platformunda yaptığı bir video açıklamada, “Kriptoyla geleceği kucaklıyoruz ve yavaş, modası geçmiş büyük bankaları geride bırakıyoruz” ifadelerini kullandı. Ayrıca, projenin DeFi platformu Aave ve Ethereum blok zinciri üzerine kurulu olacağını ve kullanıcıların merkeziyetsiz borç alıp verebilecekleri bir “kredi hesabı sistemi” sunacağını belirtti.

Proje, ABD dolarına sabitlenmiş stablecoin‘leri dünyaya yaymayı hedefliyor. Böylece ABD dolarının küresel hakimiyetinin devam etmesini sağlamayı amaçlıyor. Ancak, proje hakkında kripto topluluğunda karışık tepkiler var. Bazıları, Trump‘ın kripto sektöründeki yerini pekiştirdiğini düşünürken, diğerleri başkanlık kampanyası sırasında böyle bir proje başlatmanın riskli olabileceğini savunuyor.
